BAD-TO-WORSE SITUATION OF KILIFI CASUAL WORKERS: Albert Mturi has an explanation on this swirling shit

The whole thing has unfolded from bad to worse. Kilifi Governor does not appear to have any other options for moving out of this controversy. In small part because of the legal complexities that surround the case, but in large part is the politics around the matter.
It is also always possible — perhaps even likely — that the controversy will eventually blow over at some point or be overtaken by some opponents to make all-consuming political stories. That may, however, reinforce whatever political damage has been done in the meantime.
Ignoring the plight of Kilifi Casual now seems highly risky politically speaking! The conduct at issue is so old — going back more than twelve months now: without pay, without work recognition, without justice.
But one man at the helm failing to interpret the political risk is the Chair of the Kilifi Public Service Board – call him Albert Mturi, whose actions are unbridled.
It is wrong to frustrate casual workers. But it is more misguded to give priorities to siblings overlooking the struggle of the existing staff. This has to stop. Muturi and his family cronies at the board must be told in their faces to stop this.
Mturi deliberately proscanates in addressing the Casual Workers menace— even after clear instructions from Governor Gideon Mung’aro — shows the lengths to which Albert Mturi is turning a blind eye to the chaos engulfing the Governor’s time and political reputation. Mturi is enamouring with the suffering of 300 plus casual workers.
Together with his cousins Vice Chairperson Susan Mumba and Ag. CEO Gideon Mumba, Muturi needs to be called out. The countypeople are getting more frustrated by this aspect of cronyism.
Why is Mturi less concerned with the precarious, unstable, and uncertain nature of these workers’ employment and financial situation?
Why is Mturi not bothered by the struggle of these young men and women of Kilifi who are facing endless difficulties in making ends meet?
Why is Mturi pretending to be less aware of the status of this frustrated lot battling with emotional toll, making them economically vulnerable?
Is Mturi doing any good for not acting despite the desperateness and urgency conveyed by this group that have sought justice for the last 14 months?
This swirling shit has to end. The exploitation pushes these workers to difficulties and challenges that impart more stress and worry to them and their families.
Many of Albert Mturi’s flaws are distinctive to him. His sense of pride, entitlement, and brazen dishonesty in his handling of these Casual Workers issues facilitate the deep frustration not only to Casual Workers but even to the Governor.
In this age of angry populism, let Mturi knows that the raging dissent can be directed to his doorstep.
This is not advice. It’s a caution. Let him cure to this devastating disease. It is in his hands. If he chooses not to, he will be hijacking justice for more than 300 families, which will be a powerful expression of renewed impunity at his desk.
